A Life Changing Inspirational Story of a Rag Picker

Courtesy of Youthopedia Talk Show a rag picker seems to have no human rights nobody wants to talk about them and in our country, their lives are never valued. The problem with our system is constant and they are not taking any steps to help the poor sections of our society to develop and get to the top. But, there are some people who are able to do things in the best way even after facing so many problems. Today we are going to share a story of a ragpicker who struggled and did something extraordinary for the society.

So let us get started-:

He merely studied till the 5th standard and had no real intent to study further because somewhere he was not destined to do that. With just 130 Rupees in his pocket, he abandoned his home in search of something big. Little could he do after 2 days his 130 Rupees were spent on food and water!
There are two sides of a coin and 1 was when he had money and the other was just about to begin. After having no money in his pocket he finally saw some children picking rags at Gwalior station. Since he had to do something he started picking up rags too. He used to pick out bottles from the trash and sell them further for use. But, there was more to come in this inspirational story after facing all this somehow he came in contact with children who wrapped a handkerchief around the needle of a whitener bottle and do drugs by inhaling some bad stuff.

Much to his surprise, he found that now, it was getting harder for him to arrange money to do those drugs and derive harmful pleasure out of it. Since he wasn’t getting enough, he started to steal stuff from people. Stealing iron from here and bags from there and sell them in the market to earn money and do it all over again.

One day, he got caught by the police and was thrown into a children's rehabilitation center. For some reason, he got bailed out by a man who advised him to work somewhere and earn that bit from himself rather stealing from other people. It really took a toll on his heart and he started working in a local restaurant from 6 in the morning to 12 midnight.

He got a knack of that and forgot about that. He came to Goa and got a waiter’s job too after which he decided to open a shop which he shut down after his Mother’s death. He worked as an area swales manager as well. After so many struggles he is now owning the Voice of Slum foundation and helping the slum children.
